Location:Al-Ain
Description:The Large Single Ring Al-Ain Canceller (Dot after Month)
Story Behind the Cancellation:In 1969 a new date-stamp was introduced at the Al-Ain Post Office. The canceller, a large single ring hand-stamp, bore the inscription “AL-AIN ABU DHABI / TRUCIAL STATES”.

Two very similar cancellers were seen in use within a short period of each other – 1969 and 1971. The best way to tell this date-stamps apart from the later one is that it has a “dot” after the month, whereas the second canceller has a “dot” after the year. The date is also more compact.
