Description:The Large Bi-Lingual Abu Dhabi Double-Circle Skeleton Canceller
Dimensions:3.4 cm
Story Behind the Cancellation:The large Abu Dhabi double-ring canceller was introduced in conjunction with the 3rd anniversary for the accession of Sheikh Zayed. It is seen used on covers with the set of stamps marking the first day of issue. It was a bi-lingual canceller with “ABU DHABI” inscribed in both English and Arabic. The double-ring circle is made up of a thick outer circle and thin inner circle.

At the end of the year the canceller was found cancelling most of the Christmas mail franked with the “25 Fils” surcharged stamp between the 13th and 24th of December. This is why the canceller is found used on covers marking the first day of issue of the provisional issue.
